What a lot of people don’t mention about the road towards self-love is that it is often difficult, confusing and lonely. Anything that pushes you out of your comfort zone and calls for you to change is scary.

Self-love (and self-care) isn’t always about bubble baths, incense and meditation. It’s about critically looking within and without, actively changing your thoughts and behaviours in contribution towards your best-imagined self.

Self-love is critically analyzing how you truly feel about yourself and searching deeper for the root causes. It’s asking yourself questions about how your childhood has affected your relationships and moulded you into the person you are. It’s taking the responsibility for healing wounds you often didn’t create and making the decision to actively put in the required work.
